Client Overview:
Our client is an impressionist painter based in Orange County. She previously had a Shopify website built in 2016 but was unable to access it for updates. As her portfolio expanded, she sought a modern, manageable solution to better categorize her collection and showcase it effectively. Additionally, she wanted an online platform that could facilitate e-commerce capabilities to sell her artwork directly to collectors.
Objectives:
Create a visually compelling website to showcase the client’s extensive portfolio of paintings.
Provide e-commerce functionality to enable to client to sell her artwork online.
Implement a platform capable of easily categorizing and tracking artwork with unique SKU numbers for better inventory management.

Process:
We began by conducting extensive research on web design platforms and archival software tailored to artists’ needs. This platform allowed the client to upload detailed information about her paintings, including photographs, descriptions, SKU numbers, and categorization details. We organized her collection by painting type, medium, size, creation date, and other relevant categories, providing a streamlined structure for her portfolio.
To create a cohesive online presence, we integrated Artwork Archive with Squarespace, chosen for its ability to host beautiful and user-friendly websites. Squarespace’s design tools complemented the artist’s impressionist style and provided a robust platform for e-commerce integration.
