Website Redesign and Portfolio Update
for a Local Artist
Client Overview:
Our client is an impressionist painter who lives and works in Orange County. She had an existing Shopify website which had been built in 2016 but she was no longer able to access the site to make updates. As her portfolio had grown, she was looking for a better way to categorize her collection while also showcasing it on a beautiful website that she was able to easily manage as she created new paintings.
Objectives:
The main goal of this project was to create a website that the client could showcase with her extensive portfolio of paintings. It was also important to offer e-commerce capabilities that would allow her to sell her artwork online. We wanted to find a platform that allowed her to easily categorize her artwork and track it with unique SKU numbers.
Process:
We conducted extensive research on the best web design platforms and archival software for artists. After careful consideration, we found Artwork Archive, a platform that allows users to upload and categorize their artwork to easily catalog and manage their artwork. We worked closely with the client to gather all the necessary information about her art, including photographs, descriptions, SKU numbers, and any information we would need to populate Artwork Archive. We were able to organize the paintings by type of painting, medium, size, date created, and additional categories.
Artwork Archive integrated with Squarespace, a popular web design platform that would allow us to create a beautiful and user-friendly website for our client. We designed a Squarespace website, incorporating a clean and modern design that effectively showcased the artist's beautiful impressionist paintings. We were able to use the categories from Artwork Archive to create a page for all of her paintings as well as different pages for each type of painting, including Seascapes, Landscapes, Portraits, and more.
To ensure a seamless user experience, we optimized the website's navigation and layout to make it easy for visitors to find the information they needed. We also integrated an e-commerce system that allowed visitors to easily purchase the artist's paintings online.
Results:
The client was extremely pleased with the website we designed for her. The integration of Artwork Archive and Squarespace allowed her to easily manage and update her portfolio while also showcasing it on a beautiful and user-friendly website. The e-commerce system allowed her to sell her artwork online and reach a wider audience. We are proud to have been able to help our client achieve her goals.
