Dr. Vicki Matthews

Website and Graphic Design for a New Author and Naturopathic Physician

Client Overview:

The client is an author, teacher, relationship coach, and naturopathic physician specializing in helping individuals and couples navigate relationships and personal wellness. She approached Marketing Influence, a digital marketing firm, to create a professional online presence that showcased her expertise and promoted her books, coaching services, speaking engagements, and online store. Marketing Influence partnered with Solazzo Designs to combine strategic planning and visually compelling designs for this project.

Objectives:

The primary objective of the project was to create a professional and visually appealing online presence that consolidated all of the client’s offerings. This included:

  • Highlighting her books, coaching services, professional speaking opportunities, media appearances, and an e-commerce platform for book sales.

  • Integrating engaging lead-generation features such as digital downloads, a newsletter sign-up, and contact forms.

  • Transitioning her existing blog seamlessly to the new platform to enhance user experience and maintain her audience.

Challenges:

  • Organizing the client’s multifaceted offerings (books, coaching, speaking, blog, e-commerce) into a cohesive and user-friendly structure.

  • Balancing professionalism with approachability in her brand identity.

  • Creating a platform that made it easy for visitors to access her resources.

  • Ensuring a smooth migration of her blog without losing valuable content or disrupting user experience.

  • Designing lead magnets that effectively captured audience interest

Process:

Solazzo Designs collaborated with Marketing Influence to conduct a discovery session with the client, identifying her goals, target audience, and brand vision. Together, we crafted a comprehensive plan to design a website and digital assets that aligned with her professional identity and audience needs.

We started by establishing a cohesive brand identity for the client, including a calming professional color palette, clean typography for readability and professionalism, and graphics that aligned with her approachable yet expert persona. Once the brand identity had been established, we worked on developing her website.

Marketing Influence provided the copy and strategy, while Solazzo Designs implemented the website design. Based on the discovery session, Squarespace was chosen for its user-friendly interface and robust features, allowing the client to easily manage future updates to her site independently. A polished homepage was designed to highlighted her books, coaching services, speaking engagements, and blog. Each section was structured to guide visitors seamlessly through her offerings. The media section showcased her appearances and accolades, further establishing her credibility and professional expertise.

Transitioning the client's existing blog to the new website was a key aspect of the process. We ensured a smooth migration, consolidating content into one central location to enhance the user experience and maintain the blog’s established audience. Both strategically placed newsletter sign-up and contact form encouraged visitor engagement and an e-commerce platform was developed for the client’s online classes, complete with detailed descriptions and a streamlined purchasing process.

In addition to the website, we created several digital marketing assets to support the client’s promotional efforts. Using her new brand guide, we designed engaging digital downloads to serve as lead magnets, helping to grow her email list and audience. These downloads were tailored to her audience’s interests and featured professional, consistent design elements that aligned with her overall brand. The first was a value-add digital download for the Home Page of her website, titled “The Five Elements Personality Quiz”. We also designed a speaker sheet for interested leads to download to book her for speaking opportunities.

We also created several value-added propositions in the form of hidden landing pages, which the client links to through their email campaigns and during speaking engagements. These pages serve as a strategic tool to generate leads by offering valuable downloadable content in exchange for user information via embedded forms. Each landing page is thoughtfully designed to align with the client's brand while capturing new potential leads effectively.

The designs are showcased, and linked, below:

The website successfully unified all of the client’s offerings into a cohesive, visually appealing, and user-friendly platform.

Key achievements included:

  • Enhanced user experience with seamless blog integration and intuitive navigation.

  • Achieved effective lead generation through digital downloads and strategically placed forms.

  • Increased book sales via the e-commerce platform.

  • Recieved positive feedback from both the client and her audience, praising the design and functionality.

“I can’t say enough about how wonderful it is to work with them. And the results speak for themselves! My website has never been better, traffic has grown, and so has my business. Thank you!”
