Website and Graphic Design for a
Divorce Lawyer and New Author
Client Overview:
The client is a divorce lawyer who had recently published her book, Common Sense Divorce, which helps people navigate their divorces while saving time, money, and worry. She was looking for ways to promote her new book, including a website, social media, and additional marketing materials. She had approached Marketing Influence, a digital marketing firm, to help promote the client’s new book. Marketing Influence reached out to Solazzo Designs, and together we put together a digital promotion plan for the client.
Objectives:
Our goal was to put together a digital promotion plan for the client including a new website, digital graphic design elements, an email marketing strategy, and a social media plan. We were also tasked with creating marketing materials such as digital downloads, a speaker sheet, and mockups of the book cover.
Process:
To begin the process, we conducted a discovery session with the client and our partner, Marketing Influence, to understand the client’s vision, goals, and brand identity as well as decide the roles on this project. During the discovery session, we discussed the client’s book, her services, and her target audience. We also discussed her preferences for colors, fonts, and design style. Based on this information, we created a brand guidebook that included color palettes, typography choices, and design elements.
Marketing Influence provided the copy and strategy, while Solazzo Designs implemented the website design. The client hoped to eventually update this website herself, so we chose a user-friendly Squarespace template that would be simple for the client to manage and navigate for future updates.
We designed a homepage that featured the book as well as information about the author, book reviews, and resources for her audience. We included a page for the book with links to purchase, as well as pages for her services, information about the author, and a blog section for her to publish articles related to divorce.
In addition to the website, we created marketing materials for the client using InDesign and Canva. We designed a digital e-book as a free-resources for visitors to the website. The goal of this digital download was to help the client gain contacts through form downloads on the home page. We designed the download to be consistent with the brand guidebook, using the same color palettes, fonts, and graphics. We also designed a speaker sheet that included the client’s headshot, bio, book information, and speaking topics. Like the digital download, we designed the speaker sheet to be consistent with the brand guidebook, website, and other marketing materials.

We also designed mockups of the book cover that she could use on her website, social media, or promotional emails to promote the book and generate interest.
Results:
The client was extremely satisfied with the outcome of the project. She appreciated the visually appealing and easy-to-navigate website, which effectively promoted her book and services. The marketing materials we created helped generate more interest in her book and business. The client's website has received positive feedback from visitors and has contributed to an increase in book sales and client inquiries.
Conclusion:
Solazzo Design provided effective web and graphic design services to help the client promote her book, "Common Sense Divorce." The client was satisfied with the final designs and noted an increase in book sales and inquiries after the launch of the website and marketing materials.
